樣品槽

上圖顯示十種可用的樣品槽外形。一般而言，會使用光徑長度 10 mm 的方形容槽。不過吸光度低的情況下，會使用光徑長度較長的容槽，而吸光度高的時候，會使用光徑長度較短的容槽。下文說明吸光強度 (吸光度) 和光徑長度之間的關係。此方程式可用於決定適當的光徑長度。

ε: 吸光係數
C: 樣品濃度
L: 光徑長度

一般使用附有塞子的正方形容槽量測揮發性液體樣品，並使用微量容槽量測小容量樣品。樣品槽以下列三種材質製成。對於每種材質，可量測的波長範圍是固定的，如下所示：

石英材質 (S 容槽):190 to 2,500 nm
玻璃 (G 容槽): 320 to 2,500 nm
石英材質 (IR 容槽): 220 to 3,200 nm
